Pamela Abdy serves as Co-Chair and CEO of wg捕鱼. Motion Picture Group, encompassing wg捕鱼. Motion Pictures, New Line Cinema, DC-based films and Warner Animation Group. WPMPG continues to build on its legacy of iconic feature franchises and world-class cinema, working across all genres with both established and emerging talent 鈥� in front of and behind the camera 鈥� to deliver the industry鈥檚 most diverse slate of films for a global audience.  Abdy serves as Co-Chair and CEO with Michael De Luca.  

As Co-Chair and CEO of the Pictures Group, Abdy shares oversight of the Studio鈥檚 global theatrical production, marketing and distribution operations, which set a new high watermark for the industry early in 2022 with the record-shattering success of the acclaimed blockbuster "The Batman." Following its record-breaking $258.2 million opening weekend, the critical and commercial hit went on to earn more than $770 million, becoming the Studio鈥檚 highest-grossing release in the pandemic era.  In addition to "The Batman," WBPG鈥檚 2022 releases include "Elvis": "DC League of Super-Pets" (Warner Animation Group), "Don鈥檛 Worry Darling" (New Line), "Black Adam" (New Line/DC) and "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" (New Line/DC).

Further highlighting WBMPG鈥檚 commitment to creative excellence, wg捕鱼. was the most-honored studio at the 94th Annual Academy Awards 鈥� winning seven of its 16 nominations 鈥� for "King Richard" and "Dune"; "Dune" collected six Oscars, more than any other film released in 2021.  

Prior to joining wg捕鱼., Abdy served as MGM鈥檚 Motion Picture Group President, overseeing development, production and post-production for all MGM and Orion films.鈥疭he oversaw studio hits such as Ridley Scott鈥檚 "House of Gucci," starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver; Paul Thomas Anderson鈥檚 Academy Award庐 Best Picture-nominated "Licorice Pizza," which marked the studio鈥檚 first such nomination since "Rain Man" won in 1988; "Creed 3," starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan; Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan鈥檚 "Addams Family 2"; and Ron Howard鈥檚 "13 Lives," which was nominated for three SAG Awards.  

Before that, she was a Partner and Head of Film at Makeready, managing the creative team and all feature development, production and post-production. During her time at Makeready, the company financed and produced鈥� "Queen & Slim"鈥� from director Melina Matsoukas and writer鈥疞ena Waithe, and鈥�"A Million Little Pieces"鈥痜rom director Sam Taylor-Johnson.

From 2013 until 2016, Abdy served as President of Production at New Regency. During her post at the company, New Regency released Alejandro Gonz谩lez I帽谩rritu鈥檚 Academy Award庐-winning鈥�"Birdman" or ("The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance"),鈥疉dam McKay鈥檚 Academy Award庐-winning鈥�"The Big Short," Justin Kurzel鈥檚 "Assassin鈥檚 Creed"鈥痑nd Gore Verbinski鈥檚鈥�"Cure For Wellness."鈥疉bdy also oversaw the release of I帽谩rritu鈥檚鈥�"The Revenant"鈥痠n 2016, which received 12 Academy Award庐 nominations, including Best Picture, and won two Golden Globe awards, for Best Motion Picture 鈥� Drama and Best Actor.

Prior to New Regency, Abdy was the President of Scott Stuber鈥檚 Bluegrass Films, where she procured, developed and produced features for the company鈥檚 diverse slate, including鈥�"47 Ronin,"鈥�"Identity Thief,"鈥�"Kill the Messenger"鈥痑nd鈥�"Endless Love."  

Abdy previously served as Executive Vice President at Paramount Pictures, where she oversaw the development and production of a number of films, including Martin Scorsese鈥檚鈥�"Shutter Island,"鈥�"The Love Guru"鈥痵tarring Mike Myers, Kimberly Peirce鈥檚鈥�"Stop-Loss," the Judd Apatow-produced鈥�"Drillbit Taylor," Oliver Stone鈥檚鈥�"World Trade Center,"鈥疜aryn Kusama鈥檚鈥�"Aeon Flux," Richard LaGravenese鈥檚鈥�"Freedom Writers," Alejandro Gonz谩lez I帽谩rritu鈥檚 Golden Globe-winning "Babel" and Mark Waters鈥欌€�"Mean Girls."  

Abdy started her career as an intern at Jersey Films while participating in the Emerson College internship program. She was hired as the receptionist and went on to become Danny DeVito鈥檚 assistant. From there, she rose through the company and ultimately became President, where she associate-produced鈥�"Man on the Moon"; co-produced鈥�"Caveman鈥檚 Valentine"; executive produced鈥�"How High"; and produced the film鈥�"Garden State," which won an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature Film and a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America, serves as a Governor on the Executive Board of the Executive Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and is a part of The Hollywood Reporter鈥檚 Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program.
